I've had a blue and gold macaw for about a month and I've just noticed a soft spot on both sides of his upper mandible. He is around 4 months old. Would like to know if this is normal or a cause for concern.

I do plan on taking him to the vet soon, I'm just a little worried and would like your thoughts on this.

Just to add, his diet consists mainly of pellets, along with a portion of passwells fruit and nut mix each day

Normal for young unweaned macaw. it will harden with age.
