Okay, so he gets this from me...

Every year at Stanley Cup time, the playoffs are on at my house. Tusk has always enjoyed watching hockey. He even yells "Goal" when he hears the buzzer go off, and the crowd cheer. (Which I am pretty sure is just conditioned response. He doesn't do it, if the visiting team scores and no buzzer goes off...)

BUT he does in fact, watch the game, and seems to enjoy all the silly little men zipping around. It holds his attention.

He seems to like "GOON" hockey. (That makes one of us!) When someone gets plastered into the boards, or there is a fight, he actually does the "poofy bird dance."

Last night though, took the cake.

Tusk, like Alex, always requests things. "Wanna go outside? Wanna go for a walk." etc. are some of the things he says in context.

So, yesterday, when I get home from work he gives me a kiss, and says clear as a bell, and in context: "Wanna watch some hockey?! Let's go watch hockey!" :D

Can't tell if he was rooting for the Habs or the Rangers. But he did like that five minute major for elbowing... and he got to yell "goal" a lot last night.

I also must shamefaced admit to liking Goon's as well, gotta LOVE Brendan Shanahan, Gordie Howe, Bob Probert and Joey Kocur (the bruise brothers).

When my husband (who in every day life is this passive, easy going gentle giant, every body loves him kinda guy) gets time in the penalty box...I like it...a little too much! LOL!:p

Next you'll have to teach Puck to say, "Give blood, play hockey!" That is hilarious, you'll have to get him a little jersey to wear when you figure out which team he likes!

GO KINGS!

He would fit in great at my house. I use to play hockey and my husband loves sports.
It's amazing what birds will pick up.

Agapornis: I use to have a hat that said "Give Blood Play Hockey" (got it after my 1st set of stitches)

At the moment, I am a very frustrated SHARKS fan... so, needless to say... I'm not especially happy with you at the moment.

But at least if they win it all, and take out Chicago doing it, my team will be somewhat vindicated for their EPIC COLLAPSE... in the first round.

I really thought this was the year we would finally skate the cup!

That is so funny. You gotta love our animals. My birds don't do anything like that yet but they do love Dancing With The Stars. But come football season...game on.

Oh, sure, everyone wants a "bad boy" now and then...

Don't forget Scott Stevens! That man could HIT! But he wasn't really a cheap shot artist...

The whole, "well, if we deliberately injure your skill players we win by default... cuz we don't have the skill to win any other way." It's a tough sport to be sure, but that whole mind set is kinda slimey!

Gordie I think was only ever in like 22 fights or less but he had such a reputation and hit so hard no one messed with him.

Shanahan was a different story such a hot head and he loved starting fights.

My husband is more of the "enforcer" type player, if someone goes after him or his team mates first, then he is a wreaking ball!

My uncle had Blackhawk season tickets as a kid... so I grew up rooting for the Golden Jet and against Gordie...

Being a frustrated Blackhawks fan as a kid, prepared me for life as a frustrated - oddly enough - Kings fan when Gretzky was with them and I lived in SoCal...

And equally frustrated Sharks fan, now...

45+ years of Hockey, I watched my team skate the cup exactly ONCE!

It's funny, when I lived in Chicago as a little kid, my parents have pictures of me playing hockey. (I only vaguely remember it. Too many years and nine concussions ago...)

I couldn't ice skate now to save my life.

I can skateboard. I can surf. I can roller blade (but why would you want to?!) But I can't even stay on my feet on ice skates.

Same thing with skiing. I can snowboard down black diamonds. Can't ski down a bunny slope...

Weird, eh?!

His were "Gordie Howe hat tricks." (1 goal, 1 assist, 1 fight.)

I only played pee wee hockey. That was in Chicago.

Now the two teams I gave up on, that I USED to follow, are both powerhouses, both recent cup winners, that are playing each other for the right to go back to the finals...

So, does that mean if I finally give up on the Sharks, they'll win it?!

That is usually how it goes, though we have always been die hard Wings fans!
