So I've been trying clicker training and she HATES the sound. It makes her really aggressive. I tried muffling it a lot but to no avail. I suppose I'll just use the word good or something but I really like how precise the clicker is. Anyways she bites when I put my hand in her vicinity and when I try to bribe her with food to step up sometimes she will bite my hand with a little squeal! It's kind of cute actually but not exactly what I want! I was surprised about her dislike of the clicker because when I taught Oliver he learned very quickly, granted he already trusted me a lot at that point.
Long story short she's been aggressive when a hand is put in front of her, but she really enjoys having people around. But then something awesome happened! I put a towel on her and she seemed to really enjoy it and let me pet her without trying to bite. In the towel still I took her to the bathroom and turned the water on in the sink with the stopper in to take a bath. She flew up onto the shower and obviously because of her dislike of hands didn't want me to help her down. Eventually after lots of cheering on she made it to the sink. But she wasn't comfortable flying in by myself so I offered my arm. To my surprise she jumped on and took a really short bath then got back on my arm. After this she let me pet her out of the towel and we came back into my room and hung out a bit!
I was really not expecting this at all but I do know baths make Oliver REALLY cuddly! I hope I've helped her gain some trust in me. Here's some pictures of the experience.
Inspecting the bath, she doesn't want my help haha
Getting a little closer
She's so pretty!
Suddenly my arm is good enough to step up onto!
Bath time over and she's letting me pet her without attacking me, progress
And here's both of us! I am still seriously shocked, she seemed to hate hands so much and all of the sudden it's okay to pet her? She still wont step up, I don't think she understands what I want yet. She probably just thinks I'm pushing her around.
