Does anyone use a Vicks V745A warm mist humidifier for your birds? I have bought one and then read HERE that it is not safe because of the Teflon that is used in the heating element. The unit only heats up to 130 degrees and Teflon has a melting point of 327 degrees. I have been using it around my bird for a few days now with no problems. Does anyone else use one? What are your thoughts and why?

Thanks

Much safer to steam up the bathroom for the birds than run a humidifier. They have to be cleaned so well so frequently. I do now know about the teflon and how hot it would get.

I was told that I need a humidifier by my veterenarian b/c of how dry my patagonian's skin is! I don't know just which one to get however! I'd be curious to know what kind of humidifiers others use that are safe

Maybe if you bath your birds frequently you don't need one???
