Lol, it seems to be a sound system that plays sounds at a frequency that supposedly humans can't hear to calm your bird down. Like the opposite of the rodent deterrents that you plug in and it also emits a high frequency. As a person with sensitive hearing, I can assure you that I can still hear those sounds and it drives me bonkers.

Umbrella Cockatoo- 15? years old..I think?
This is what Google translate says:
"No less than 6 years of intensive research has been done (in collaboration with veterinarians) before RelaxoPet was launched. 3.5 years of research has been done in the field of birds and the RelaxoBird is completely focused on the sound level of the bird. The new Relaxobird works with completely new subliminal sound sequences that are not audible to the human ear. In total there are 6 different songs (tracks) that are played by the RelaxoBird. Ideal for birds that quickly suffer from stress, (abandonment) anxiety, or other behavioral problems.

RelaxoBird can help against picking at crooked beaks, if this is a result of stress or anxiety. RelaxoBird can help against screaming, if this is followed by anxiety, separation anxiety or stress. So also ideal when you want to leave the house but your parrot, for example a cockatoo, starts screaming when you leave the house."

the googletranslate is more or less right.

I've seen it advertised (during on of my may-be-shopping-spree moments) and frankly dismissed it as probably just as usefull as those musquito repellents you plug in and it supposedly emits sounds that will drive the bugs away.
(My mum had one and it drives me insane! )

LOL @ charmed: I SO hear you!
Those devices are hell for people who have not ruined their hearing with loud music or old age

As for soothing sounds... one of the oldest pieces of advice I can remember involving mechanical sounds and animals was: when you get a new puppy in the house place a mechanical ticking old fasioned alarmclock nearby -> the coninuous tick-tock sounds are supposed to soothe the lonely baby.
(So you can sleep in your bedroom, the puppy will learn to be selfsufficient and sleep on its dogbed, necessery because animals in bedrooms are seen as unhygienic esp. in the olden days.)

My macaw has a love/hate affair with a ticking clock I banned to the toilet-space because the loud ticking sounds drive me insane, but seem to work for her.
She wants to visit it sometimes, but not go near...
I am not sure if the fascination is positive or negative, but she is doing fine at the moment: if it aint broken -> dont fix it / chance anything.

Sorry for digressing (again)- I was just trying to point out that any type of sound can influence a bird, but there is no way there is a fix-for-all since all individual birds are wired slightly different.

This is just another gadget imho. so see it as an expensive toy (good or bad - depends on the bird) but not a solution to a problem.

If it really was a cure-all it would have been worldfamous years ago!!

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Found this site and clicked on Google Translate: https://www.hokkendomein.nl/detail/1944975/relaxo-bird-tegen-stress.htm

Has a .NL suffix so seems from the Netherlands. Perhaps Christa will see this and comment?

Don't know how subliminal sounds affect birds. However many products use various frequencies to allegedly keep rodents/insects away. Pretty much a scam from that aspect.

I agree with all of you.
I just posted it cause I saw it in a shop and I thought that it would be fake. Cause all those noises to repel mosquitos donā€™t work or sound so loud I thought it would be the same.
I was also worried in case itā€™s harmful for the bird or something and wanted to know opinions from everyone!!

I personally will not buy it, first cause I see it stupid.
And second because I donā€™t really trust what they are saying ;/ maybe one day Iā€™ll try it and tell you about my experience with it

LOL, de dutch from "Hokkendomein" is so crappy is probably comes straight from a translation-robot.
Just based on the many, many spelling etc. errors I would not believe one word they write.

"from it years sceintific reasearc proves it works" etc.
