I think parrots belong to the same spy network...
Here's the Rickeybird peeking at me from behind cage covers he has pulled down through the bars as camouflage.
WHO ARE THEY WORKING FOR?????????
I get this a lot from all 3 conures sometimes the cockatiels join in! My bed is right next to their area so they do this in the morning just waiting for me to move and show I'm awake before greeting me lol
I'm laughing pretty hard right now!!! my senegal use to peek behind the curtains at me and laugh...then say"come find me" it was hard not to smile and act like I didn't see him.
When I take a nap during the afternoon, I put Skittles in his sleep cage in the bedroom so he can be near me. (Its a big cage, the same kind as his old one). He will actually climb down to the corner of the cage and watch me sleep. Its kinda creepy to be honest. lol
Conures are 100% creepers. Every one I've ever had has done that exact thing, I'd say green cheeks are definitely the #1 offenders, but all the others are a close second.
I don't know what it is, but that look, especially that thousand yard stare, will always freak me out just a little!
When you are positive somebody is watching you...
Okay, how's this for creepy conure stares?
The Rickeybird has 5 perches around the house. He likes to face away from me and bend wayyyy over until he can stare at me UPSIDE DOWN. Usually he does so in silence, but sometimes he makes creepy clicking noises. Creepy! Click and watch...
Sometimes its hard to tell why they are watching. Are they trying to keep an eye on us to make sure we are safe, or trying to be a lookout to find out if can see them before they strike up their next batch of hell-raising.
