THIS GUY!!!

Yeah, well I can't keep secret to save my life. I forgot about the receipt in my wallet from the pet store. I asked my wife to bring me my wallet over to me and get my card out so I can purchase Assassins Creed III:). Well she got my card out along with the receipt and she flipped out wondering what the heck I spent so much money for. At that point there was nothing I could do, but tell her. So now she knows and she loves me for it. So I took her last night to see her bird, and I bought this cage today!

I also got this. :p

The bird is still at the pet shop and won't be home until the end of November being we are going on vacation.

Problem is they have a Sun Conure at the store that I really like. :p Very good looking bird and nice, a little bit of a bitter, but nothing that can't be fixed.

Is the cage good? It has 1/2 in bar spacing. I wanted another cage but it had 3/4 bar spacing so I thought it wouldn't be good. If the cage is no good I can send it back for another cage.

1/2" is a great size. 3/4" is just a tab too big. The largest size for a GCC is 5/8".

Congrats on your new bird, your wife is going to love having a GCC.

The challenge ladder looks fun, did you get the Medium size?

I got the Large size!! LoL The guy is small. The only thing that scared me on this cage is a lot of people are just putting parakeets and finch's in it. They say the bar thickness is as good as any parakeet cage. I think it should be fine, however, the bird is really not that big and it's bite is not that hard.

I saw one review about a conure in it, so it should be ok!

1/2 " bar spacing is great for a GCC. The HQ flight cage, and the A&E flight cage, both very popular cages are 1/2".

The large ladder might be too big, it is more for Cockatoo's, Macaws, and larger birds.

Well, if the ladder is too big he will be able to play with it on the outside. :p

Also funny thing, the caged shipped already for Plainsfield IN, and I live only 70 miles from Plainsfield. LOL So I should have it sooner than I thought.

Hey Hey!! I'm so happy that the wife found out. Don't worry about the bar size, it's just fine for your bird. You have a great cage with plenty of room that your new family member will enjoy! Congratulations!!

My GCC has a mixture of different sized play toys and her ladder is for bigger birds. Little toys for eg budgies or 'tiels don't last 2 minutes - Jasmine plays much rougher than a budgie!!!

Oh, I am not worried about the bar size! I am worried about it's strength, so the bird will not bite out of it.

I also found that radiator heaters with oil in them seems to be the 100% sure way to go for safe bird heating. Being I live in a cold basement, I am going to buy 3 more for my area. That should keep it warm enough!

I have the same ladder for my conures and it works great. I have medium and large. If its close to the water dish, don't be too alarmed if your bird a red beak or feet. It can stain them.

I really like how that worked out for you! No more hiding. Glad she's so happy.

I've always had my conures in cages designed for budgies and cockatiels :) They definitely cant bite out of it. I just downgraded my conures cage size to a regular flight cage... the female is a bit of a meanie and the boy had fallen off the perch a few times... its a long fall in such a huge cage so now they have a 400mm x 600mm x 500mm cage... they spend the day out of it anyway :)

Nice, cage! Yes, that cage is fine! It's plenty big for my GCCs. Funny way to find out! (Men love their video games! Lol) :p Just don't scare the little guy too much. I over-handled my girls the first day i got hem, they got scared and it took me about 2 months to completely regain their trust. Though judging by that pic that's not the case, lol.

I have that same cage. It's huge! My green cheek is very happy in it. We've never had any issues :)

I bought the exact cage & we just finished putting it together last night :) Very large! Yet not unreasonable with the amount of room it takes up. Had some issues with some of the wire bars not fitting into the holes at the bottom, but we used black zip ties to help keep them where we need them.

Here is my new cage, up and ready to go. It is a little flimsy but it's sturdy enough. We got more cleaning to do before the Bird comes home to make sure our area is safe for our guy. LoL
