I think they're just like any other parrot, it AIN'T a matter of if, but more like WHEN you're gonna get bit! Out of our 2 GW's, one definitely bites harder than the other but is controllable by voice command. It's also pretty obvious when they're gonna do it so usually grabbing the beak will prevent it. I can see how they can appear to be intimidating to people, my oldest visits and he really tries to mess with them but you can tell he's very leary of that beak. Having hand raised them, I really have no issues since I can almost foresee their every move. And yes, their beaks are incredibly strong.
