I had my allergy test done today.

I am mildly allergic to dust mites, ragweed, and cats, boohoo :(
I have 4 cats, but they will remain here since I'm just mildly allergic to them.

Now I can get my troops on board and start dusting:rolleyes:

that would explain why I get a reaction when I go clothes shopping.

when we go to the beach(only 15 minutes away) I get a reaction almost everytime, or when we are on our boat.....stupid ragweed:mad:

they also recommended getting allergy shots. I happy with that prospect, I hate needles, but hey, if it will build up my immune system and I won't have a reaction as much, maybe my asthma will simmer down.

funny thing is my doctor wanted me tested for birds:rolleyes::rolleyes:

......they didn't test for birds nor did they have serum to test for it.... that's what started this whole thing too...idk

I'm allergic to ragweed and am a sniffling mess every fall, but last year I ate pollen every day during the winter, and all summer (small amounts, like a tsp) and last fall I had no reaction. None. Apparently eating local pollen (and honey) will build up a resistance to it. I really didn't think it would work but it did.

Interesting. I have heard eating local honey will help! Last year i had more troubles than usual, pretty much spring through fall and a friend told me to try local honey, but I didn't.

@ Kalidasa- really? I didn't know that, well....I'm going to try that for sure, thanks for the tip :)

Yes, local honey DOES work!!! It works on our pets, too, if they have allergies. ;)

When I was a teenager I was tested for allergies, and I was (supposedly) VERY allergic to dust, dust mites, and wool. I received the shots for 1 year.

I'm sitting here in my 100% wool pullover, and don't have a single itch and/or hive anywhere. :D
