Am I ruining it?

Thank you both. It's going much better now. The avian vet did give him a very short trim. He can still get from his play stand on the couch for example when he wants to, he can glide quite far. I have also done what LordTriggs suggested, to take a huge step back and just let him get used to me and his new environment first. He is mostly on his play stand now, and every now and then I give him a bit of attention and let him step up and step back, and I do a little bit of target training. But only 2 minutes at once. I can already see a huge difference, he's a lot calmer and just playing with his foot toys on his stand and the other hanging toys. I'm just going to continue like this very slowly. I have been reading some of Birdman's 666's thread about Macaw beaks etc. But I haven't read everything yet. I'll do that as well.

I'm going to let his feathers grow out again and then also do flight training and harness training. Would love to be able to take him outside as well when he's older.
