I have a 2-year-old male Bourke named Khai. He is definitely a people bird and will go to anybody wants to be on their shoulder. Talks up a storm. There are 6 things he will say, very smart!! He is really attached to me and another friend whom he visits fairly often. If I leave the room he calls for me,and if he is on the floor will go to where I am at even the bathroom. 
He loves to be on my shoulder when I vacuum and mop!! He takes a shower with me sometimes as well. He gives lots of kisses and sometimes teases with his kisses. Loves for me to chase him.
A friend who is a breeder told me she heard of a 2-year-old male Bourke killing another 6-month-old Bourke when put together after 6 months. She has bred Bourkes for years and never heard of this. Was planning on getting another male friend for Khai but she thought best not to risk it. Cannot see Khai hurting another Bourke, but guess you never know. I am retired and home most of the time; when I am gone may be 4-6 hours at a time. The breeder friend told me I have a very special bird and I am his flock! Just thought he would like a companion when I am gone, though afraid it might make him jealous.
