Hey guys.

Alex Bird is still going strong at 24 and a half years old(cockatiel)

And Himawari Flatbird the special needs budgie is also still going strong, think she's 8 now?

Both I think would benefit from a specifically anti inflammatory diet. Any recipes or tips or pointers? Hima's little leg joints seem a bit swollen these days and she sleeps more than she did when she was younger, but overall still healthy and happy and living her best flat life 🥰

To be clear, they aren't the only two doing well. But the others are more "normal" birds(whatever that means LOL) for their diet needs

That’s great! While birds and humans obviously have different dietary needs, the basic anti-inflammatory diet starts with avoiding processed food, refined sugars, dairy, and white flour. From there, it largely becomes an individual plan as a person figures out what causes flare-ups etc. That’s harder to figure out with a bird, I imagine, since they can’t tell you how they feel! One other thought is giving them organic, THC free, hemp oil. It is filled with omega fatty acids that have some great anti-inflammatory benefits as well as packing a lot of nutrients. Hope your birds keep going strong ❤️
