Pineapple Green Cheek Conure
Our GCC is about 6-8 months of age, and he's smaller than most of the green cheeks I've seen at pet stores. At what age do they reach their full size?

When I got River he was 8 weeks old. The breeder said he was as tall as he was going to be, but that over the first 6 months or so, they do a lot of "filling out".

yep same here, I got my little guy at about 8 weeks or so and he filling out, but hasn't gotten a whole lot larger.

I have wondered the same thing, our little guy is only 5 months old and other GCC's I've seen in the pet stores seem way larger than him also. I don't mind him being small at all, he's just so darn cute! He's gone through a bit of a growth spurt this last 3 weeks or so where he's noticeably filled out some.

I think he's always going to be on the smaller side though, and acrobatic! Holy cow! I had no idea birds could do the things our Franlin does. He's definitely small but mightey!

Maxx is 5 months old and 65g. I have read they are usually between 60-80g. So he had a little filling out to do.

Our little pineapple greencheek is 4 months old. I thought that she was small too. The bird in the pet stores all look huge.... we have had her since she was 8 weeks... I am glad I am not alone...she is so adorable!!!

Interesting! I wonder if the pet store birds are larger due to a fatty seed diet. One could presume that some shop owners feed them cheaper seed mixes as opposed to pellets.

I suppose it could just be genetics; some birds are simply larger than others.

I have five green cheek conures and they all vary in sizes. Yellow sided green cheeks tend to be smaller as well as most pineapples. It all really depends on the parents sizes as well. People that raise show birds look for the larger birds of a species and will continue to breed for size. As long as she weighs in the proper amounts, she should be just fine, only small. I have a cinnamon that is tiny compared to my two normals and they are all over the ages of 3 years.
