August Photo of the Month Contest

At least we're not meeting up to hold the contest in person. The mods would have to FOOT THE BILL!

Wouldn't be a prob, @AprilRobin. We mods do this job for love, and there's always plenty of THAT to share around 💖

Well of course I must show Yuri and her widdle bandaged foot.

And Ona doing a wave!

This month’s theme is toe-totally awesome!

Just for fun for now at least, look at Joey's feet. Both feet have birth defects from inbreeding. On both feet the larger of the back facing toes flip under and forward nailspointing up and she mostly sits on the back of her toes and her lower leg bones while flipping everyone the "Double Toe Bird"! I felt so sorry for her when I saw this when i was raising her when she was a tiny baby last winter. The vet said she would likely adapt but I gave her lots of extra

love and attention when she was a baby and probably spoiled her somewhat (a lot). I thought her foot deformities would handicap her ability to climb and perch but she is the best little climber I've ever seen and hits the landings on the edge of my phone perfectly, like the Gymnast she is!

There's a lot of personality in that look! A cutie!

Oops. I've had a lot of budgies but I've never had one like Joey. She is attached to us like velcro and never bites or nips. Lately she's been obsessed with climbing into my long sleeved t-shirts and running around under there. She has and respects absolutely no boundaries. I don't know why she's like this. I hand raised her, Rocky and her older cousin Tiki (one at a time) and I treated them very similar and they are all bonded to us but Joey is so much more attached which is unusual for a female budgie especially. I call her our own personal budgie.
