Landing gear up! I see her toenail!View attachment 81340Sushi hiding her left foot. Can you find it?
Official entry.
Thank you!You have such pretty pink feet, Otto!
Joey is so cute! And from what you told me before shes quite the trouble maker and gets into some interesting predicaments, like when she fell behind that cabinetJust for fun for now at least, look at Joey's feet. Both feet have birth defects from inbreeding. On both feet the larger of the back facing toes flip under and forward nailspointing up and she mostly sits on the back of her toes and her lower leg bones while flipping everyone the "Double Toe Bird"! I felt so sorry for her when I saw this when i was raising her when she was a tiny baby last winter. The vet said she would likely adapt but I gave her lots of extra View attachment 81050love and attention when she was a baby and probably spoiled her somewhat (a lot). I thought her foot deformities would handicap her ability to climb and perch but she is the best little climber I've ever seen and hits the landings on the edge of my phone perfectly, like the Gymnast she is!
Thanks. Joey's a real explorer! If there's trouble she'll find it. And she's way oversexed, too. I went away for 6 days when she was only 6 months old and when I came home she was laying egg on the floor of her cage! The only contact she had with male birds is with her in her cage and the boys teasing her through the cage bars. I have to keep her in a different room with a female cagemate.Joey is so cute! shes doing great, she likes to chill in my hood sometimes if Im wearing a hoodie, and she likes to climb up onto my head, shes very smart and I love her a lot, shes still afraid of hands but overall I think shes doing greatThanks. But Joey's an absolute sweetheart. She's super affectionate to us and loves to sit on us preening our faces and never nips or bites.
Pilot's a cutie, too! Has she continued to warm up to you?
I love that, that's adorable.Yeah!!!! Another avain who loves riding in hoodies!!!! Nameliss my CAG owner used to think that I was her pocket human. She'd get in my pockets and peek out. Then she discovered hoodies. That was result of blizzard and 3+ days of city wide power outage. When Nameliss sees me in a hoodie she does a dance to get close and in hoodie. Again yeah! Another hoodie birdie!
Pilot will often times use my hood to climb onto my head, she loves it up there but her favorite activity is playing on my phone and watching videos with meSome of my budgies are hoodie birds. When they were babies they were also pocket and sleeve birds. Joey got her name from riding around as a baby in the front of my bathrobe like a baby kangaroo and she still crawls into my clothes at 10 months old. Hoodies are also good for protecting your ears and head from nips and beak bangs or sharp claws when you have thin or missing hair like my husband.
