Baldness

I have a 12 year old green cheek conure who is losing the feathers on top of his head for the past year. It's about a dime size in diameter. A friend thought he may be scratching the top of his head and the feathers are not allowed to grow back in. She checked for mites and didn't see any.
Any idea??

Have you ever seen her scratch the top of her head excessively?

If I were you I would take her to an avian vet and have her checked out.
