Birds and Cats

^Yeah really

It's not as far fetched as you think. There are a lot of unnatural goings on to keeping a bird. Heck, if you want to go down that road then no one should ever buy a parrot over the age of 30 since it can and probably will outlive you.

Took the temp of the group. Got my answer (conscensus) and I thank you for all replies except the one above.

Keeping a creature of the skies may be unnatural, but the human owes their companion the highest level of safety, nutrition, and care. Separation from an innate predator ranks high on that list, IMHO. For this reason I do not have cats, and will not because my parrots are a life-long avocation.

I'm a huge animal lover. Along with my two cockatiels I also own two ragdoll cats, a Doberman Pinscher and a tank of fish. While it is doable, just take precautions. My general rule is, if the birds are out of the cage and flying around, the cats are put away in their room. It's just safer that way. Although Ragdolls are generally pretty easy-going and laid back, my two have a high-prey drive. The dog doesn't pay them much attention. Just my two cents!

Cats are a no-go for me. Honestly cats with any type of prey animal are a no-go together. I love cats had them as a child but I chose dogs and exotics as an adult.
