I am the mom to a 10-year-old CAG whom I adopted from a rescue orphanage. His previous owner didn't know how to handle him so he was left in his cage most of the time. I find him very well-mannered; however, he loves to throw his bowl out -- even with fresh fruits/veggies in it that he loves. He talks most when my boyfriend is home. He is very attached to him and perks up when he walks in the door. LOL Even though I feed him and clean his cage, he still prefers to be with his dad. Funny!!! anyway, I am looking forward to talking with other CAG owners. I have had a female CAG; however, left her with my ex-husband. I didn't have the heart to separate them as he loves her very much. I do visit often; however. :grey: :63:

Hi and welcome~ new member as well. It's great that youre able to visit your feathered baby still :) and congrats on your adopting one into your family!

Hi, welcome to you and Birnie to the forum, I don't what it is with some birds and wanting to dump their bowls, but my macaw Quincy seems to go out of his way to do it, I have to actually padlock the doors closed, both to keep him from escaping when he's in the cage, and from opening the doors and dumping the bowls when he's out...........sigh, whats a parront to do?, hope you enjoy your stay :)

Welcome to the Forum! My Quaker parrot Ralph is a bowl-dumper too. When I'd catch him at it, I would clap my hands a couple times to get him to stop. I did succeed in getting Ralph to imitate the hand-clapping, though not stopping the dish-dumping.

Hahaha that's such a typical Quaker
Ralph is always up to some kinda trouble
just lucky he so cute ha

I think they just like watching you clean it up. Gandalf would deliberately drop stuff and say "uh oh," "this is terrible," "what a mess," etc. Messy animals. :D
