Hello everyone,

Thereā€™s a blister on the budgeā€™s left foot. Budgie walks with a limp and doesnā€™t like to put weight on that foot. Itā€™s not bleeding but looks infected. I just put some antibiotics on it today. I wanna see what you guys think. Do you think it will resolve on its own or should I take him to the vet? Thank you

Welcome to the Forums to you and your budgie, although I am sorry it is under worrying circumstances.

Do you know how your budgie came to get the blister? If he is unable or unwilling to put weight on it, it's likely to be causing him some distress. In the case of injury or infection, or if you are uncertain how to proceed, a visit with a specialist avian vet is best. I'm not sure where you are in the world but the following link may help you find an avian vet if you don't already know of one.....

Wishing your budgie a full and speedy recovery!

Sweet budgie! Great job on hand Taming him!

You can get a tiny mini spray bottle and add a few drops of betadine to water. And spray the toe. Betadine does stain! But its great at treating wounds.

Its possible this blister is linked with a virus, or bacteria/ fungal infections.....im not familiar with blister on feet. So having it checked out by the avain veterinarian is your best bet.

Keep us updated!

Great information provided above.

Blisters are rare on the side of the toe, but can happen.

It can also be a tumor.

Unless it is an abrasion /injury, it will likely not just go away.

Avain Medical Profession is my first choice.

I'd say a vet is your best bet. I'm having technical difficulties so I can't see it, but bumble-foot can also cause sores/blisters, depending where they are.
