I am a new owner of 4-month-old female African Grey Congo and new member on this site. The cage I have her in right now is 22" D x 32" W 36" H and 1/2" bar spacing. I am looking at getting her a cage 28" D x 36" W x 68" H and 1" bar spacing will this spacing be to wide I don’t want her to stick her head though the bars and get stuck any suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

For a CAG I believe that 1" is good....but someone correct me if I am wrong.
I can find some cages that are big, with smaller spaced bars. Just givve me a few min.

1" is fine, anything else and they could get their wings caught between the bars. (I know this from experience :D) Young greys are very clumsy :D and can get the tops of their wings stuck in the bars at a very odd angle. Then when you have to go get it out you better have some plasters (band aids) ready. :D

Both mine have 1" spacing and Kito (the baby, 6 months) has been in his for a while now. He never managed to get his head through.

I agree that 1" is perfect, especially for a baby. There are a lot of websites out there with recommended bar spacing, and some of them for Grey's & Amazon's even say up to 1 1/2". My Amazon's outside cage is 1 1/2", and I think it's almost too big for them, and I'm constantly checking on them when they are out there so they don't get stuck.

I think you'll have more peace of mind with 1" spacing
