Cage

I just bought a cage fo my green cheeck but I dont know if I made the right decision. Is this cage too big for them! Can they hurt in a cage that might not be adequate for small birds? Thank you

The only way a cage can be too big would be the bar spacing. GCC are so small that 1/2" is ideal. That one looks like the way most cages that size are, 5/8". So barely over 1/2". I think it should be fine. It's unlikely that your bird will try and stick their head through the bars anyway. Some do, which is the reason for the caution, but I don't think it's too common. At any rate, I think they'll be fine, but if I had a GCC I'd go with a flight cage which comes standard 1/2" and spacious interior as well.

Judging by your first picture when your little guy hanging in the back, the spacing between the bars may be a tad too wide? My sun conures have found the weak spots in my cage where they can squeeze out of and go play in their day bed... but for me that doesn't matter anymore because their cage is open even when I'm not home, they won! I have an IP cam so i can spy on them when I am at work. They actually never leave the cage, they just like the option to come out when they want too.

It doesn't appear the bar spacing is wide enough for them to stick their heads through, which is the primary concern with cages made for larger species. With 4 (?) conures housed together, you certainly want as large of a cage as safe so they all have adequate room! You may even want to consider saving up for a custom made cage for that many birds living together. I would be sure to buy extra dishes so every individual bird has their own, separate food/water dish and no one can hog all the food/water or chase the others away. I would place those dishes at opposite ends of the cage, again, so everyone has the chance to eat and drink in peace and no one is being bullied out of food/water (one of the primary "issues" with housing multiple birds in the same cage).

Agree with Raven. GCC bar spacing is ideal at or under 1/2". I know for Skittles, the maximum bar spacing is 3/4" but sunnies are also bigger than green cheeks.
