Can you help me determine de gender?

Hey. I just got a new budgie and the breeder told us that he is a young male( but he didn't seem very certain... maibe 70%) and after we searched online we couldn't understand what gender he/she is....

The cere looks purple but it appears to have a white ring around the nostrils....

Hmm that is a tricky one. Based on barring, the bird is pretty young. It should be easier to tell the gender in a few months as the color changes. If it gets darker blue, you can be sure it is a boy and if it turns a lighter tan or brown color, it is female.

Personally, I think it looks more like a male.

Based on the white rings, it looks like a female to me. Whatever it is, it sure is cute!

the cere blueish so id say male but its kinda to early to tell

Females can have blue-ish ceres.... I would expect more pink if male at that age so I'm leaning towards a hen myself.
