Charlie at 26 yrs old

Charlie's been falling off his perches a lot lately. At least 5 times since last night, and he lands like a rock. I've got rope roosts near the bottom of the cage for him, but I was wondering if there were other ideas I could provide to make his climb to the top of the cage (his preferred area to sit, which I've moved perches down a bit ) easier? The old fart is 26 years old.

Redshift, who's 25, lives with Charlie and seems to be in better straits. He does fall from his roosting spot at times, but he's not as frequent or as hard as Charlie.

A way to raise bottom to him or lower top? It's hard to change a habit human or pet!
