My cockatiel just finished a 7 day course of Cipro for prevention of aspiration pneumonia.
I’ve noticed that he’s been sneezing occasionally since he finished the course of antibiotics.

The vet said that if you are concreted, you can continue the Cipro for another week, but it’s also fine to monitor him to see how he’s doing. So I’ve been monitoring him.

My question is—when is sneezing normal and when is it a problem? Obviously, if he sneezes every hour, then that’s a problem. If he has any sort of discharge, especially colored, then we have a problem.

But how about if he sneezes while preening? Or maybe a couple of times a day while not preening? Isn’t that normal?

It’s just so hard to tell, and I feel I’m psyching myself out and reading too much into things.

Any suggestions?

Sneezing every now and again isn't a problem and I wouldn't be concerned
