Construction begins today!!

Things are moving at a steady pace, here's where we're at so far....

The roof took a whopping 2 days to do lol and the siders finished as well. All the windows are in, including my skylight for above the kitchen island. Front door is in, shower for the master bath is in, and bathtub for the guest bath is in.

Next is the electrical rough and we need to paint the exterior of the house- guess I need to decide on colors!!

I also took window measurements today so I can start making window treatments for all these windows!!

SWWEEEEEET!!!!! :D Great progress!! You must be so happy and excited!!!

Do you have to paint the siding? When we had our siding replaced several years ago, we just picked the color siding we wanted.

To save money, sam is doing the painting- interior/exterior, flooring, decks, and any cement pads needed outside...but he's also getting paid to do those things- just not as much as the house company charges.

The electricians are here today!! :D

It's still a weird thought that we'll be in a HOUSE in a month, not just A house though- OUR house!! I'm so excited!!!!

It is so exciting how quickly the house will be done! So happy for you that you are only a month away now:)

This has been THEE longest, hardest, and most stressful wait of my life lol I can't wait to get out of our current teeny tiny living space!!

My husband has recently declared that he'll be turning the garage into a media room/his office...which frees up the 3rd bedroom where I could have my craft/art room (I have A LOT of craft and sewing stuff).

OH MY GOSH! This is happening all so quick! :O House looks amazing so far!!! Can't wait to see photos of the rooms when they're all done! :P

I'm SOO ready to move in- since we're so close to it, all the construction noise bothers Chili sometimes- usually if they're using nail guns :( I've already moved her cage once, and there's not much else I can do except wait.

Wow! I can't believe the progress! I haven't been in the forum much in the last month and a half. Your house is coming right along! You must be so excited! :D

It has gone by really fast, and I'm chomping at the bit to get into my new house- I think it makes it harder on me because I look at it every day! Lol

Right now it's at a stand-still. :( the electrical has been put in, but we're waiting on the power lines to be moved from their current spot (by the road) to the new spot by the house....THEN we can hook up the electrical to the house, pass inspection, hook up power to the new water well- and water lines still have to be trenched and put in from the well-pump to the house.

I believe the property partition for our house is almost approved, so then my in-laws will be able to start their house....and theirs is twice the size of ours!

It's been a few weeks since I've updated- things have been progressing slowly....the power company finally came out and hooked up the house, the garage floor was poured, garage door is in, we've painted the exterior, and most recently the insulation has been put in.... So, the drywallers will be here next week and we're waiting on gutters to be installed as well. We'll also be pouring cement for the driveway pad, front walkway, and retainer wall for the front yard as soon as weather permits.

Hopefully we'll be able to move in within a month from now.

And this is why I say when weather permits- we're currently getting dumped on with snow and then next week it'll be rain.

This is so exciting, watching your house come together literally from the ground up!
I will keep my fingers crossed for you that the weather stays good long enough for you to get it finished:) Then we are going to need a virtual tour throughout!

So... is it done yet????

I want pics of the inside once it's completed!!!! :D

Been a while since I've seen all the work done and it looks amazing!

Everything is looking really nice Shirre!!!!! Been awhile since I checked out your pictures and it's coming along quite nicely. :)

It's not :( they delivered the drywall a few days ago, and I thought the guy showed up this morning to hang the drywall but then he left :( so hopefully they'll start next week- I'm hoping we can move in by mid-march though

Things are still moving at a snail's pace... But, the drywallers came out and hung up all the sheetrock- waiting for the next crew to come in and tape, mud, and texture ....then we can paint the walls :D

We also got the hardwood flooring yesterday, so happy we'll have hardwood floors throughout the whole house!!
"Brazilian Cherry"

I am so jealous! The height of your ceilings is amazing:) And that colour of your hardwood is gorgeous:) Is that a skylight?

Thank you terry! I'm getting SUPER excited- when I went in after they hung all the drywall, I got pretty teary eyed lol

It is a skylight!! It was kind of fascinating how they put it in- it's actually one window, but they split it into thirds like that because of the beams for the tresses.

Maybe I should hang a boing or something up there???? ;) hahaha

Yep, only thing missing is a boing..lolol

It's going to be amazing!!!!! Love that color of wood! A nice deep color with some red!

I'll happily dance along with you once the house is painted and the floors are in!:jumping40
