The drywall stage is finally finished. They did the initial tape and mud layer, let it dry a few days, then another mud coat, more drying, then Thursday they primed everything and Friday they textured.

So here's where we're at...ready to paint


After we're done painting the cabinets can go in, then linoleum for the kitchen and bathrooms, then we can lay the hardwood floors.

I picked out the colors for most of the rooms


The master bedroom will only have 1 wall that purple, Jed's room will be all "rain" except the closet and ceiling will be a tan color. My office will have cream wainscot that Sam (hubby) will custom make from the chair rail down, and the walls will be "witty green". Chili's cage will also go in my office so she can have privacy and not be disturbed by us staying up late at night or waking up early. Her play areas will be out in the great room though.

The kitchen will have the "refresh" which will contrast nicely with the dark cabinetry and Brazilian Cherry floors. We'll also have black appliances.

The ceilings and a lot of the walls will be light cream/tans with a few darker shades of browns to cover different walls throughout.

Well, we're pretty much done painting- except for a few touch ups and the kitchen walls still need a second coat.

My office- it's pretty intensely bright lol I'm hoping once hubby puts in the wainscot it'll tone it down a bit lol

I'm very excited- it's nice to see everything starting to come together... I think I'll go on a baking frenzy once we're moved in LOL

The linoleum, back splashes, and counters went in today


The linoleum in the master bath didn't get laid because the plumber messed up and put the toilet fixture in the wrong place it's RIGHT NEXT to the cabinet

So how long is it going to take the plumber to fix his mistake?

I'm assuming he'll just fix it when he comes to do the final plumbing stuff since it's already scheduled- so next week some time....

According to the schedule shelves (for all closets) and mirrors (bathrooms) are next- either tomorrow or Friday.

Thank you Michael! We still have to do the second paint coat for the kitchen and I need to re-cut the ceiling edges in the master bath, but we really like how all the colors turned out together.

April 1: shelves & mirrors
April 1: finish electrical
April 2: finish HVAC
April 2: finish plumbing

April 8 (or as soon as everything else is complete) : hardwood floors
