Conure Cage Sizes

Hello!
I'm currently looking into adopting a beautiful pair of conures from a rescue and was wondering what size cage two conures would share? I've tried googling but I want to be really sure I'm getting the proper amount of space for these feather babies. Also, any conure owners with any advice in general, I would love to hear it!

Do you have more background on the conures? Species of conure? Are they a mated pair? Have they lived together in the same cage before? It is generally inadvisable to house 2 parrots in the same cage, however there are always exceptions especially in cases of a bonded pair or birds who have a history of peaceful cohabitation. If they have no been caged together before, you will need to house them separately, even if they're best friends when out of the cages and supervised. You could get either 2 cages and place them side by side or buy a single large cage with center divider.

I've just filled out an application for them to consider me, once they contact me they'll provide me with more information and specifics. From what they've told me so far, it seems like the two are a mated pair or have a history of peaceful cohabitation that but I'll make sure to clarify once I'm in contact with them. I'll post pictures of the two, I think they might both be variations of green cheek but I'm not sure.

Aw - they are beautiful! Conures are wonderful, I think you'll really enjoy having them become part of your household. There's tons of great information in the conure threads on here too.

I agree with everyone else - unless they have a history of living together, it can be inadvisable to house them together.

That being said - my Sun and green cheek came to me as a pair that had always lived together. They continue to live together and they don't even like being apart when they are out flying around the house. I do have a second cage, just in case there are ever any issues. I leave the spare cage open with toys and whatever in it and they use it freely as another place to play (so if I ever have to move one into it will be a familiar space). Mine have a 36"x36"x48" cage space that they are in when I'm at work and for sleeping. They have perches and play stands around the house for when I'm home. I'd say to get the biggest cage that works with your space and your budget. Keep an eye on the bar spacing when considering cages - conure heads could fit through the bars of cages designed for larger species. Mine seem quite happy with their cage - although I have been looking at larger flight cages and am considering getting them one (I feel like they'd use the space during the day if they had it).

Something that you can consider, is a very large flight cage that has a panel that can be put in between to separate it if needed! They are incredible beauties! If you change your mind I would be interested in knowing the address of the rescue!

I would say the bare MINIMUM should be 18x18x24 for a single conure. So I'd say bigger for two conures. I'd recommend getting a cage with a playstand. I got Skittles new cage on Amazon for just over $100. It's a cage you'd easily pay nearly $400 for in a pet store. You can get some GREAT deals on cages on Amazon.

You also want to take bar spacing into consideration. I'd say no more than 1/2" to 5/8".

How come the pineapple conure has a bigger beak than the gcc without color mutation if they are the same species so I wouldnt think they would be any different aside from colors
