I went back to the beginning of this thread and read some early posts. You warned first of stock market, you were one of the early ones to say stock up. Our prepping people also made me feel better about getting supplies in, and not to feel shamed for doing so! Bill also helped me find an online store that carried my favorite oven baked bites!
We really are a world community, and show that communities coming together, talking and sharing help us all be stronger,!!
Keep sharing with your home wider community the facts and steps they can take about surfaces. About showers and washing clothes after being out. About remembering shoes can track stuff inside. That unclosed public spaces, six feet is not enough, as the virus can stay in the air.
It is going to get worse, we are not near peaking. But then as all things it will pass. And we will have learned, and be more prepared next time!

Great points about processing mail. Mine is delivered to a cluster-box and I let it sit overnight and pick up ~20 hours later. Will start leaving it in sunshine for a while before touching.

A thought on stocking up. I have noticed folks seem to be it ignoring ham! The big ol hunk so popular at Easter time! Very inexpensive, and great shelf life. Even without freezing!

Country ham doesn't even need refridgerating. We grabbed 4 whole hams, and some vaccum packs of slices and trimmings. High high high salt tho, some people advise simmering before eating it.

Ky governor closing all non essential retail tomorrow. Unclear if feed shop counts, but he said he would allow "curbside pickup". We will still make several trips back and forth tomorrow. The local church has started doing loudspeaker services to people in their cars with the windows closed. They are doing a LOT of services. We can hear them from our property, but not clearly. I don't mean to say anything about anyone's faith, and it is super important in these times. But hearing just constant church services(too distorted to understand anything) echoing quietly thru our holler all day is deeply unsettling.

I can understand that, too much like movies...
I imagine it's because the elderly aren't able to use online technology as easy. I have to help my elderly neighbor with the most basic steps if useing the web, and he can't rember how to do on his own. Our library was going to teach a class on how to use technology for the elderly, unfortunately it wasn't able to start before the pandemic....to tell you the truth I would take that class! I need help with some stuff to..

Our state released that they are seeing all age groups over 18 in the hospital, while our fatalities have been over the age of 50, tho we've exported a case was in their 30's and otherwise healthy who passed away at their home.
Tomorrow one location in my area will start testing any age with symptoms and fever, previous it was only 65 and older with symptoms
Cases climbed to 1007, fifty in my ares

NY State Gov. Como was almost yelling at people because on Sat there were crowds of mostly young people in Central Park congregating. Not taking the warnings seriously. NY is the hotspot in the US. My company produces parts that among other things, is used to manufacture ventilators, so we have to stay open. FWIW, that company is going to increase production 40X normal, so both we and our manufacturers will be key in the response to CoVid. I can do my functions from home ( Quality Assurance Mgr) but my staff has to be on site to handle, inspect and ship product. We are going to start today to practice 'industrial distancing' having 2 shifts and disinfecting between shifts. Staff also gets a hardship bonus each week. Stay safe people!

Went to the cabin this weekend, a guy's weekend out of the home and Mrs. Boat's hair. Death could occur if her two dust balls didn't go away for a bit. So, Julio and I drove to the cabin... Near no one around, sunny, but cool... Julio enjoyed the Sun in the Southern Window as he watched me Spring prep a bit earlier than normal.
Interesting regarding the lack of Social Distancing! As we past homes with 8 to 10 cars in the driveway and along the roadway was far more common than what I normally have seen both to and from the cabin.
Clearly, people are bored crazy and are out enjoying a past joy of the Weekend ride in the auto!!! And, they are far more busy watching the World go by... It seemed like every ten miles we had people passing us and than slowing to view Julio viewing them... Low gas prices and bored people enjoying a long lost adventure...
But, as stated above, the Masses are not social distancing! We should see like losses like the larger family gathering in which four family members died and now additional members are infected after a family gathering.
Please social distance! I'm very old and I would like to enjoy another few Christmases!!! Please...

If possible, try to watch one or more of the press conferences my governor has been holding daily. He doesn't sugar coat, but he is very very reassuring. He is doing a STELLAR job and I find his press conferences very reassuring. Altho, I did skip yesterday's. It was too much. And I ended up having a rough, nightmare-filled, tossing and turning, not enough sleep last night. Very stressful. *shakes head* I need to go hug a bird.
Plus Alex is acting older and older. The other day I was spraying them all down and he swung forward to get sprayed good, but swung all the way to hanging upsidedown nearly. He has done this before so I didn't get upset. But then it became obvious he couldn't pull himself back up, so I put my hand under his back so he could just let go and drop into my hand and from there he climbed back up to his perch. At 18(next month) he is allowed not to be as spry and agile as he used to be, but ughhh I don't like watching my best friend get older. Even tho I know getting old is an honor and a privilige.

I'm going to make it a point to watch your Governor Bugs, as I have been watching NY State Gov. Como, who I find inspiring and I'm a Conservative. He has that Fireside Chat thing going. Which I find informative and comforting. Our governor is not up to the task and sadly it shows... This Virus is clearly defining those Governors that have it fully together and those that really need to grow-up to the task confronting them.
Yes a bit political, but if a conservative can provide positive comments about a democrat there is still hope for this country... May this continue to happen across this Country. As we have great leaders in both parties. May they continue to find common ground that will assure that We The People need them to work upon!
My fellow America's, it is about "We The People" and not us against them... We as individuals have always worked together and we need to remind our leaders that if we can work together, so can they...
I deeply love this Country, have severed it willing and would again. It hurts deeply to see this divide in our Government... Let us use this dark moment in history to come together and work together to save our fellow Americans from this Virus...

One reason this is going to get so much worse, and the reason for a 14 day isolation is the number of infected folks unknowingly spreading this! We are talking 100s of thousands! Minimum!

Our guy came on the scene in December I think. He repeatedly and unashamedly calls people out for political bs. "There are no Republicans or Democrats right now, only Kentuckians" and is not quite bad mouthing state congress, but is not taking any crap.. "why are you working on things to get people upset right now? If you can't come up with a budget, adjurn and I will call a special session *when it is safe* for you to pass measures related to the coronavirus". Refusing to politicize *anything* and trying VERY hard to stand between Kentuckianns and all others. This guy is a Democrat in the land of stars and bars... and he seems to be adored by the people.

If this guy doesn't have a great political career ahead of him I will eat my hat. Dumber than a sack of potatoes, but you don't need to be a genius to be a great leader.

We went to 1200, we are 7th in the states, we only started testing younger than 65 today.
Press conference today, no worries , doesn't think will be a big deal.
BTW 2 weeks after Marti gras, Louisiana blew up.
Our spring break people are still here, just migration to beaches that are open..
We were also told that New Yorkers are flocking here as they escape their states lockdown....
So ya I'm kinda worried about my state!
