COVID-19 Virus

Re: Wuhan virus

I spent four days last week in the ICU..Pneumonia and some sort of flu..tested negative for the corn virus. David is now working from home ( he is a software engineer)..The Governor is shutting non-essential places down..grocery stores are having a tough time keeping stuff in stock. I see a lot less traffic go by the house. I haven't been out of the house since getting home from the hospital.

Jim

Glad you are released to recuperate at home, Jim! Definitely a reminder flu season remains in effect and any of us can catch some crud that requires hospitalization. Continue to improve, my friend!!

Re: Wuhan virus

Jim, so sorry you have been so sick, hopefully you can continue to feel better!

All countries in the world now have at least one coronavirus case! ALL!!

I pray for all

Re: Wuhan virus

To lighten the mood:

All this canned food and guess what we can't find. Yup. Lost the can opener. Ahahahahaha ordered a couple from ebay and will be more careful with them. Maybe tie them to the kitchen counter somehow or something.

I'm cuddled up with a flatbird, a heating pad(too cold for no heat, too warm to fire up wood stove), some snacks, a drink, and a video game. Stress doesn't stand a *chance*.

Some people keep a rabbits foot on a keychain.
I keep a P-38 (military can opener) on my keychain as a good luck charm.

Aaah, the international symbol of nothing can stand in front, as the P-38 can open all!!! Truly a great Good Luck Charm, as you will not hunger!

It's sort of funny to me that Noodles has NO idea what is going on. I have frozen a bunch of stuff for her in the event that there are shortages or I get sick, but she is needy as ever lol!

Re: Wuhan virus

Here in the UK they have just shut down the whole country. We can go out for food/medicine/exercise/help others just once a day or less. No groups unless household members, otherwise no more than 2 together. 3 weeks they have said. We'll see.

Lol
My birds sat on me and all stayed six inches apart, I called it social distances! ( But they stay that far apart normally)

Glad to see your post was worried since you hadn't posted in awhile

Re: Wuhan virus

I was sick for like 14 days! Not fun... Thankfully, I was alone all but one of those days! I we knew how long this has really been going around.

But think back like 9-10 days ago (pre-stay-at-home orders)--I also drove an hour to a doctor in a small-town because that is where I established care when I moved here. I did stay in, but I ranted at the time about how lax they seemed in terms of protective equipment etc.

Jim

I’m so sorry to hear you were so unwell Jim, that would have been very scary for you. We in the Land of Oz are wishing you a full and speedy recovery!

Re: Wuhan virus

The news conference focased on the death rate if the elderly. Which is true and very important.

But let us not forget, that every age group over 20 , 20% of people with the virus in each age group, will have sever symptoms, being hospitalized, Bei g on ventilators for weeks! Half of all hospitalized cases are under 50. Yes the are living, but some will have permanent lung damge, holes in their lungs, some will have neurological damage. Please don't loose sight of this!

Georgia has an 11 year old on a ventilator, with no pre-existing condition.....

Do not let omission of data and facts from news conference make you complacent. Previous pages in this thread back up the statement made above.

Re: Wuhan virus

That poor kid! Kentucky has had 2 young child cases: an 8 month old who is doing well, and a 6 year old who is doing well now, but who did need to be hospitalized.

Not even children are completely safe from this. The press conference with Trump honestly tereified me. If he opens business on Tuesday, millions will die. And how even would he? He never "closed" the country. Governors independantly from the federal government closed their businesses. Is he trying to overrule what governors have said to their own people?

Re: Wuhan virus

Thank goodness you’ve got Dr Anthony Fauci! Or will he soon hear the words “You’re fired!”?

Re: Wuhan virus

I feel like hubbs and I may have missed some. The channel we were watching on stopped the coverage shortly after Trump stepped away from podium. What did the others say?

Let's be honest, a couple of National News staff pushed to get a statement! He never stated that and clearly did not say this Tuesday, or any Tuesday for that fact. The Taskforce was tasked to provide data as to the flow of the Virus, i.e. its direction and what effect the 15 day limited activity was having and what direction 'should' be taken next...

It is very important to remember that in this country, States have very Strong Rights and their Governors have control over what their States do. The Governor of New York has been a shining example of State Power and his use of that Power.

To believe that the National Government is going to tell New York State to return to pre-shutdown and open all its business... Not going to happen!

Tons! it would take pages to cover everything... Need to change who you are watching such coverage... Consider a channel that is full covering such programing. May have to consider viewing a dark side channel...
