- I had an Orange Winged Amazon for 29 years (from a hatchling) and he died of a stroke 3 weeks ago. Heartbroken.
My baby passed away from a stroke three weeks ago. He was an Orange Winged Amazon who was my beloved companion for 29 years, since he was a hatchling. I recently had a new tree commissioned as he was free range for almost 20 years due to a feather issue on one of his wings. I am beyond heartbroken.
The tree is in Connecticut, for pickup only, and to ensure that I am neither a scammer or a bot I can be directly in touch upon serious interest. Below is the ad (thank you AI). there is a video as well but it is too large for the forum, so I can send directly upon real interest.
This one-of-a-kind indoor parrot tree was commissioned and constructed by a master craftsman as a special project. It was designed specifically for medium-to-large companion parrots, with a variety of natural branch diameters providing appropriately sized and varied foot purchase for birds ranging from Amazons through Macaws.
The natural wood tree provides numerous climbing, perching and play areas at different heights and angles, along with two stainless-steel bowls and multiple locations for hanging toys and enrichment.
The entire installation was designed around a large 53" x 40" elevated catch tray. Rather than placing the tray at floor level, the tray was deliberately positioned closer to the bird's perching area to help limit the splatter radius of food, droppings, feathers and other debris. The smooth white composite tray surface is extremely easy to wipe and clean, although poop stains may need some misted hydrogen peroxide to sit and clean off, which is nontoxic to birds as long as sprayed into the tray. The pictures should show how well it cleans up.
The design is modular for both cleaning and transport. The large tray can be removed from the pedestal/base, and the upper section containing the tree can also be removed from the tray so that the tree assembly can be taken outdoors separately for thorough washing.
DIMENSIONS
• Overall height: approximately 72"
• Catch tray: 53" L x 40" W, lip to lip
• Floor to top of tray lip: approximately 34"
• Tree height from tray to highest extended branch: approximately 37 1/4"
• Pedestal/base: approximately 23" wide
The stand is close to new and has had very limited use. It cost $1700 to have custom constructed.
