Hi! I just got my Green Cheek Conure from someone who couldn't have it anymore. It has an open gold band on it's right leg that has A0002 written on the band. Can anyone tell me what it means? Thanks!

Sadly there is no database of "offical" leg band numbers/letters. Many are assigned randomly, others are customized to the breeder. I know the forum at avianavenue has a record of band numbers that were created by members. There may be more groups that record them as well. Sorry I can't give you an official answer!

Isn’t it odd that band numbers are given, but not trackable? It’s an almost perfect system [emoji38]

I know, right? My bird's band is a variation of ABC-123. Veryyyyyy helpful.
