Do our birds miss us?

I went to the bank and butcher earlier this morning.
Was only gone for 2 hours.

When returning home, you could swear I had been gone for days.

Mishka kept saying ohh mommy, I replied yes Mishka, he then kept asking me questions and telling me things. He kept this up for over an hour, it was awesome, and exhausting, but most enjoyable.

Some questions between the two of us:

Mommy did you go out? yes Mishka - why mommy why

I went to the butcher Mishka - ohh mommy you went to poopie

I missed you today Mishka, did you miss mommy
I missed you today mommy of course I missed you today

I love mommy - I love Mishka

Mommy is drinking coffee - mommy where is my coffee?
Mishka does not drink coffee Mishka - shuuu oh shut up

Mommy is cooking, and makes the sound yummy sound
Mishka what is mommy cooking? - Mommy is cooking water

Mommy lets go shower quickly, come mommy
Where do you want to shower Mishka?
In the bathroom, in the water and the bubbles
Mommy go clean the bathroom

Nothing in the world beats having a loving bird around.

He obviously misses you while you are out and then feels he needs to talk nonstop to you once you get Home

When I go out, Codie does not eat or play with her Toys!! I can tell as all her Foot Toys are still in the Bowl and all food is still as I left it.. but the minute I walk in, she then throws all her Toys out and starts eating her Food

Any time I go outside my sennie shrieks as the door opens, then does the same when we come home while pacing around her cage. Yeah, I think they miss us.

I was curious what Mishka did when I walk out the apartment. I videod him.
Mishka goes up and down the bars, and calls after me, looking for me.
Eventually settling down, and begins to play and talk to himself.

When I viewed the video, I cried my heart out.....

Before I purchased a camera, I used my cell phone to record Mishka.

Believe me they are more worried about you than their weekly millet

When I leave the house I try to do it inconspicuously, not because of the birds, but because one of my pups believes she can go with me each and every time.

And when I return, other than being greeting with 8 paws all over my body and tongues in my face, I can hear Niko, Hunter and now Sam "HI" "HELLOW" "COME HEEEERE". And they start going back and forth in their cages, anxiously awaiting for me to take them out and shower them in kisses.

You are right, Ant, NOTHING beats being loved by your feathered baby.

Ralph the Quaker gets very angry at me when I tell him I have to leave; it's one of the rare occasions that he tries to bite me hard. When I return, he almost always turns his back to me for a while, to punish me for going out and leaving him. On the other hand, George the YCA always greeted me with a cheerful "hello, George" when I came home-- then immediately demanded something to eat.
