Domnijoe - The Art Studio and Bird Herder's Residence

Thank you, everyone! I'm feeling somewhat better today! Yvons was having a fantastic day watching Paranormal Nightmare TV with me on YouTube while the dog barked her fool head off. She's been exceedingly yappy today. Oy.

The birds got their veggies after I was sick for so long. Everyone dug in as if they'd never seen food before. Yvons got his playtime out of the cage and decided to stand on the opposite side of the cage where he usually stands. He's started saying new words. I can't be 100% certain, but I swear he says 'Evil' in a deep man's voice. If not, it's 'Eagle'... but I swear up and down there's a V in there, so it's likely 'Evil'. It fits with the 'Hey a$$hole' he's said to me a few times. I still don't know his complete back story. Meh. One day :D

At Yvonn's age there's no telling what is his repertoire of sounds, words and phrases. Be prepared for him to mimic his favorite show characters, sounds and more. You'll rapidly learn his preferences if he is a TV person.

Yvons has learned how to say the F sharp word. It was 3 am, and the dog was chasing the cat like a lunatic. I muttered 'F**king Dog' under my breath and ..... I caught Yvons saying it a few days ago. I am BEYOND embarrassed about this. I completely ignored his incantations (Folks know how Greys can be with words they like....) and by the next day, he was speaking as if he had never heard the word.

Vortex has learned to mimic me farting. Little stinker, LOL! (NO pun intended!)

And Yvons LOVES coming out to the top of his cage now. Though getting back **IN** is a challenge. I open the cage door and offer a Nutriberry, and he's like 'Cool! Treat!'. He crawls from the top of the cage to the top of the door, hangs upside down from his cage door perch, and performs contortionist moves to retrieve his nutriberries. He's hilarious.

You've discovered the penalties of a CAG and any parrot who likes to talk. Words, sounds they like are incorporated into their vocabulary. They only need hear it a few times. I've read that parrots don't forget. So that phrase can pop up again unexpectedly. Who knows that may have already been a part of his vocabulary. Hearing you say it prompted Yvonn to 'repeat' it. Could you identify what voice? Male or female? How did he sound? Annoyed? Irritated? Amused? Or something else? In a multi bird environment who will imitate who? Will Yvonn teach or be taught? That should make things interesting. Calisthenic avoidance of the things, is a bird specialty. Glad that you and Yvonn are getting along. Have you started training yet?
