female budgie laid an egg♡

hey! my female budgie laid an egg today and we're very excited since we've been trying to prepare for a while.
shes been acting a bit funny, though, and just looking inside the nest and even like moving it back and forth the egg was moving inside and my mom got nervous, so she moved the egg to a separate container with wood shavings. she ordered an incubator in case our hen doesnt care for the eggs she lays.

Why won't you let the parents take care of the egg(s) and babies? The female usually doesn't start active brooding of the eggs until she's laid three of them. Trust her to know what to do.
Do you have any experience hand feeding newborn baby budgies? It's a 24/7 job feeding them every two hours to start and it's very easy to make feeding mistakes and kill the babies.
