Finn the Severely Disabled Goldfish

they look soooo cartoonish though
Him more than most, he's stunted, which means his eyes and possibly other organs are growing faster than his 'body shell'.

are you talking about finn?

Umm, odd news guys...
Finn has a wen. He's not supposed to, but he does. I'm now not sure what type of goldie he is, but he was sold with the fantails, so I'll just say he's a fantail with a wen...

I've been looking for a vet I can bring him to, to see if they can do anything for his mouth. It's REALLY SMALL, and he's missing part of a bone in his skull, which makes it harder for him to function in some ways.

Finn is still a lovely fish overall haha
Indeed he is, a lovely and very happy little fish! I hope to correct as many deformities as possible in him (to make his quality of life better). He could live up to 20 years!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Finn has dropsy and a fungal infection...
I'm not sure if he'll make it...

Finn, if you don't make it...
I love you more than the world, buddy ๐Ÿงก

He's doing better since I moved him to an actual quarantine tank (not just a bucket). I'm giving him very low light, salt, methelyne blue, and kanaplex. His quarantine is 10gals and he has an airstone and a hideout (which is important, anything that can reduce stress helps).

He's getting better, and is swimming normally again!

Dear Finn, dear Finn,
We hope you win
And overcome the germy bum
That wants to do you in.

The worldโ€™s aware,
We have to stare,
And drop the jaw, in happy awe,
At Stormyโ€™s loving care!

Not sure if I should react with 'laugh' or 'love' LOL

I'm crying... so afraid he's gonna die...
At least if he does, he'll know he was loved... but I don't want him to leave ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’”

And for anyone looking into rescuing, this is the reality of rescuing. It's basically putting yourself through mental agony in hopes that 1 in 20 animals will live and thrive. It's not usually such a glorious victory as depicted in the media...

I'm not looking for pity, I just want people to know what they're getting themselves into.
