So like the title suggests I have had my first blood feather experience.
Maverick, my pattagonian conure had the blood feather and with no avian vets around me that were open and no bird stores open I had to pull it out quickly because he was bleeding so much.
Ultimately my sister pulled it out while I held him and cooed to him. I was apologizing to him the whole time and he kept saying “Its okay” I was so scared I was going to lose him but everything is okay now. I gave him some fruits and vegies to help him regain some strength for the blood lose and I’m just talking to him a lot.
He did bite me through the process but he apologized after he did it and he didn’t make me bleed at all. I was shaking to be honest but at least I have seen this process done before over and over again.
