Grow Lights & Parrots

My macaw looks like he’s in some sort of trance. I bought some grow lights for my Venus fly traps. He’ll be like this for 20 minutes or so before even moving. Does anyone know if a parrot stares at the grow lights if it’s harmful? I can touch his claws, and such when he’s in this trance too. Usually he’d get feisty with me for doing something like that.

Check labels on lights. Birds are sensitive to certain types of plant lighting. You want broad spectrum, flicker free, not to bright. Anything else can cause behavior problems. That looks purplish in video. Try turning it off for a day or so. See how he does.

Now I want to know why only my macaw does this. My others do not.

That's as good as anything. Motionless, less visibility.
