Growing Dark Spot on Beak

My 15 month old Cinnamon Cockatiel (Tweedles) developed a dark spot on his beak about 1-1/2 weeks ago and it keeps growing in size. Right now it's about 1/3 the size of a grain of rice. I have an appointment for him but it's not until July 14th., literally a month from now.

Can anyone here, (Preferably an Avian Vet) tell me exactly what this is, is it serious, and is there ANYTHING I can do until his appointment?
Yesterday I started putting 91% Isopropyl Alcohol on it 2x daily with a Q-tip. I also have some Amoxicillin Trihydrate, I was thinking of sprinkling a tiny amount on mashed potatoes.

I don't know if it's an infection, a bruise or what. It kinda looks like dried blood but it doesn't wipe off. It seems to be on and slightly below the surface of his beak. At the moment it does not appear to be penetrating through his beak. He's his usual chirpy, talkative self with no symptoms.

Has he crashed into anything recently? My old teil got a bruise that looked almost exactly like that after he bonked into a window. (He was okay, everyone was just a bit scared though. Even him!)

The isopropyl alcohol is not recommended for birds. It can cause respiratory problems. It's not good for skin. Please don't give the antibiotic. Dogs and people get grams. Birds get micrograms or less. You will overdose your baby no matter how little you sprinkle. Try not to panic.

Thanks, It doesn't seem to be getting bigger or worse. Could just be a bruise as he's had a few night freights before.

Be careful with night frights, and teils getting scared in the night. It's how my boy went out and I don't want it happening to anyone else, so here's a few ways to avoid it:

One: Make sure your bird has a comfortable cover, that can make it completely dark and can dampen outside noises.

Two: NEVER make loud noises by the cage after he's covered.

Three: Have a sleep cage in an area with a properly closing door and make sure (if you have any) other pets can't get in there.

Give Tweedles some scritches for me, and have a wonderful time with him!

So true. Find his comfort level. Each bird is a bit different when it comes to night. My CAG likes a lighr no brighter then what comes under a door. It makes her feel secure. She can see enough to avoid night panics. Like tonight when a thunderstorm announced itself with a boom at 0200.
