Parrots
I have one bird. He is a Black Capped Conure and his name is Harley. His hatch date is 2/3/2014.
So I'm eating cereal this morning and I put the bowl down that had only milk in it. He hops down his platform, goes down his later and somehow when I'm not looking ends up taking three dips of milk! I take him away and he tries like hell to get back to the bowl! Ugh! Harley doesn't realize milk is something he shouldn't have. Hopefully he'll be okay.

I imagine indigestion and/or the squirts would be the worst of it. Sneaky sneaky! lol

He is a little sneak! He's always getting into things he shouldn't be. ALWAYS. If that's all I have to worry about then thank God. He got those three sips in as I turned around and went to go sit back down. I was like 'harley! Get out of there!!!!' he just looked at me and quacked.

Harley will be fine.

Some of my birds often will sneak stuff like that. I don't worry too much about it.

One time I had a Sonic Milkshake with whipped cream on top. I walked out of the room and when I came back I had a Macaw sitting on his perch where I left him, looking innocent, with whipped cream from neck to beak!

Guess what, He Lived...

OMG....PLEASE tell me you have a pic, lol, that's hilarious!

I wish I thought to take one...

That is just so cute! "Milk: It does a birdy good".

Parrots are soooo sneaky. You'd think they inspect the area looking for the right time to strike!

I cannot tell you how many times I've caught Skittles sneaking a sip of coffee.

One time, I caught him having a bath in a glass of orange juice. That's how I realized he got his orange coloring.

I've often thought of that too. I think in hindsight it's what we all think. But in the moment, our reflexes take over and our first thought is worry.

This is why I can't drink coffee or tea around Kyo. She is always trying to steal it! She got a tiny taste once, and decided that it's the best thing in the world. ><

LOL. Yeah, like parrots need anymore caffeine, right? Skittles is already hyper enough! Skittles gets that way with bread, pasta and pizza crusts. There are very few things he will hop up and down for, but that is one.

What I do now is I have a thermal cup for my coffee. It has a lid on it. That way he can't get to it. The only thing I drink right out in the open in front of him is water or juice cause he can have both.

@starry I bet Harley knows he shouldn't have that and that's all the more reason why he wants it! LOL

I do the same thing, except I had to give up because Kyo is obsessed with chewing the lid of my thermal cup!! As soon as she sees it she won't leave e it alone. Haha she is so full of badness ;)

You have not lived until you see a big Mac decide to go snorkeling in a small glass of iced tea...

@Skittles he knows he's not to have it but the little sneak did it again this morning! I even went out of the way to put it where I thought he couldn't get to it. Guess what, he got to it. THEN tried to go for my coffee. Uh no little man not for you. He gets so excited over the littlest things. Pretzels, cheeseitz, wheat thins, Blueberry muffins, pasta, provolone cheese, apples, pears, roast beef.... The last one was found out when I was eating a wrap and he flew onto me and took a piece of roast beef and flew off with it. Ate it then came back for more! No sir, this is mommas lunch!

@captsteve that had to be a site to see!

LOL, that's why I have a steel thermal cup. LOL. However, I do have to keep it away from edges cause I know he'll try to tip it over.

Well, we do all know having a bird around is like having a perpetual toddler in the house Tell them, "NO" and they want it more than ever.
