Green cheek conyer
So nice to be able to see so many people who love birds. I have had several birds over the years( I'm in my 70"s), but have recently adopted a 5 year old green cheek Conyer. My question is about their diet. The sample packet of food given me when I took Tom home looked like a mushy mash in which I could identify some vegetables. She prepared his veggies and fruit in a blender and froze packets of it. I have been chopping up fresh food from a list of vegetables I found posted of what they should eat. Then doing the same with fruits in another bowl. And he has a bowl with a variety of pellets. Is this right or should I be blending veggies together to make a mash?

welcome and be welcomed. My amazon is onthe same diet. Try different things, and stick with what he actually eats.

Welcome. And enjoy being here. There's lots of information. Pellets separate or mash it's a birdie preference. Mine likes them separate. What does yours prefer?

He eats a lot of pellets so I keep them separate from the vegetables. His previous owner put his veggie mix in his bowl and put pieces of fruit on top. That is what I am doing too.
Do you have any information on how to deal with biting. Right now I have several places on my neck, face and shoulders where he has broken the skin. He has flown to me when I was working at my computer and when I moved my head to talk to him he started biting me. Trying to get him on my hand and away from my shoulders just makes him dig in his claws on my shoulder and attack my hand. I am at my wits end!
