Hello, of course I am new to this site.
My name is Steve.
I am the proud keeper of 3 Cockatoo's and until 07-25-2013 at 10:30am also an Australian Kingfisher (Kookaburra) named Kooky. He is listed as lost on Craigslist, Facebook, Parrot alert. Of course I am looking to get as much coverage for my buddy as I can. The troubling thing is he is NOT a parrot and thus not as personable. Although he will come when called at times and at times he will also seek the comfort of his human companions or his cage mates, 'Tooies' he will most likely fly from others.. Well, that's my hello.

ChiefTooie, do you think you could get hold of a recording of Kookaburras calling? They're highly social, highly territorial birds and if anything would grab Kooky's attention, that would. He's probably not too far away, so act quickly if you can. I hope he comes home soon!

I have done exactly that.. Plus I walk around trilling.
I was playing 7 different calls over hours in my yard. Of course as loud as I can. The neighbors, I have to be at least somewhat considerate.
