Hello everyone! I came here because i need advise, i was using chat gpt but i feel like now its better have real people to talk with.

I have an Alexandrine parrot, i get him January 26 2026, he is wild, and i want start come closer to him, but he looks like have his own space and fun. I have tones of questions, first question is what i should feed him for his best health care? What should i avoid and how i will come closer to him? i tried million times feed him from my hand but he just wait me throw it in his feeding boll. He doesnt scared by me any, he is normal, but i want come closer to him. I have him in my room so we are gather many hours, i have also time for him.
My goal is make him have the best possible situation with me,i dont care if he stays wild but i would love him come to me.
He never leave the cage even if i have open the door for long time, He eat a lot of seeds ,he eat apple, but for example he doeant eat carrot any.
I daily bring him woods to destroy and he is really happy!.
I need any kind of advise ,maybe he need much more time to eat from me, but i feel like i have to ask.

The best advice I can give is to give him a much larger cage especially since he doesn't come out.

Patience, patience and then ............................................more patience. ALex's, like many in that family, can take a long time to trust. ANd Parrots are all about trust. Everything you do should be measured by that - does this build or break trust. It might take 6 months , more, but it will happen for you. Remember to be consistent, parrots LOVE predictability and a schedule.

Yes i do this, i dont force him for anything.... we have a nice routine, he also chill in one foot,
his beak creaks , we are gather only 3 months!

What about food my friend? he doesnt touch pelet even if i have theme there from day 1, he prefer seeds only... i use deli nature serengeti and manibota for african grey to mix with, i also have versele laga exotic fruits and exotic nuts for 2 times the week! i give him apple like everyday he loves it, but i tried with carrot and broccoli but he doesnt like it any
