Ok, our newest pi has been with us for only about a week now and is doing great. Interacts nicely with everyone, loves his new pellets and fresh and cooked foods and is just fitting in nicely (or as nicely as he can while still in seclusion). Well, I was bad and cruised the craigslist for my area and low and behold there was an ad for a blue headed pionus not 15 min's from my house! So, um, yeah, I called and went over to meet "him" today. He's supposedly 3 years old and they are his 2nd owner (first was his breeder). They have only had him a few months and the wife is going in for back surgery and said she shouldn't have gotten another bird (they have 5 others). Well, he stepped up for both the husband and wife and stepped right up for me too. He bent his head down for scritches and then decided I evidently looked hungry and decided to regurgitate for me (owner said they had never seen him do that before). I set him back on the cage and then picked him up again a few minutes later and he again wanted scritches on his head and neck, let me play with his beak, and then let me flip him over onto his back in my other hand. So my dilemma is: should I add a 3rd pi to my flock or let him pass by (price is very good). I have 5 kids age 11 and up that are all clamoring to hold the newest pi now, so time/attention wouldn't be an issue. (hubby might LOL) HELP.
