Help training my bird something

My sun conure loves to go on my floor. Which in some cases is ok but it’s getting to a point it’s too much because she escapes her cage and goes through all my things and I don’t want her eating something bad. She also screams till I let her on the floor and has a whole fit I do not let her on the floor anymore. She also runs under my shelves and bed and literally anything just so she can be on the floor. How do I train her to not do this??

Any time she lands on the floor, immediately pick her up and put her on an approved perching spot.

As above. At appropriate spot have a few special treats, toys; foot,, foraging, chew etc. This will make area desirable. But..you may have a dedicated floor explorer. Their number ONE gaol being if you don't want me to have it, or be there, it must be investigated! My CAG is 21 yrs old. I have to keep my eyes on her for out of cage time. She prefers getting on floor and exploring. Nothing has stopped her. She's fully flighted but prefers walking and climbing. Read posts about what others have tried. You may find something that works.

In my experience with mine he loves to spelunk... Explore caves My first GCC Clark did the same and would go under a dresser and hang out in a drawer. My sun, he literally makes happy noises as he goes down some hole or another. Even inside my shirt. I'd offer an alternative cave to go into...You can't change the desire, but you might change the area of focus to a safer one.

Having a female I'm kinda glad she's only into spelunking when she hormonal. My problem is her exploring takes her to the computer keyboard with the key covers asking for removal. Climbing up fridge towel to reach the trash can auto open sensor, unraveling crochet or worse. When I find something weird I look at her and say conversationaly ...damn it, why. Over the decades I have not broken that habit. This past holiday season when I do something she doesn't approve of she repeats it.

Its easy to train a parrot to DO something. Its extremely hard to get them to STOP doing something. Especially with what sounds like mating driven behavior. Seeking out dark hidey spots is mating driven behavior. Maybe provide the bird with a better place ( to her) to hang out in, that would be safer then just roaming the floor in search of one.

Be sensitive to when her mating season is showing signs of abating and curb the floor roaming.

Be aware that the first few full blown seasons for young parrots is often very intense and also aware that not every years season will have the same intensity. Some might be milder or more intense.
