I'd like to say something here:
To all who have faired well during this storm, please PLEASE, if you SAFELY can, have a look around your neighborhood and see if anybody needs help who wasn't so fortunate.
I took a quick ride around my neighborhood this morning, camera in tow, and as time permits I will upload and share some of these images.
Not all my neighbors were as lucky as me, and I invited 2 of them into my home. They are downstairs enjoying a warm cup of tea and some breakfast.
Furthermore, we will help wherever needed and it's possible for us to do so safely, WITHOUT getting in the way of emergency personnell, fire trucks, and law enforcement.
Additionally, we were already contacted by the Sheriff to see if we could possibly house an elderly couple whose house was demolished last night. We absolutely will since we have the space. I'm not familiar with all counties rules on housing people in need. We have a background check done yearly, finger printed, etc, as a precautionary measure. In my opinion it is well worth it.
Give blood if you are in good health, unless you've already done so.
Every little bit helps, believe me. And afterall, we are all human, and we should act as such with compassion for the less fortunate in times like these.
