My Senegal Parrot was attacked by my Dusky Conure and the result was a badly bitten forward facing toe(her longest toe). It took her toenail completely off. This happened 2 weeks ago and she is still in great discomfort. She will NOT leave her toe alone. Other than putting a collar around her neck to keep her from pecking at it, what else can I do to help her? Is there some type of analgesic which would soothe the affected area? I've tried using the numbing medicine used for babies who are teething, but that has provided no relief at all.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This actually happened to our pionus. He was attacked by a severe macaw. Has her toe actually fallen off yet?

Did you bring him to a vet?

I would bring her to the vet, no matter how minor or serious it looks!

your poor birds been in pain for 2wks??

vets asap, yes she might get over it, but if infection sets in, its gonna be a longer recovery, if at all
