I lost maggie tonight!!

Mark, are you familiar with KLEY La Ley? It's a radio station in San Antonio, it is in Spanish

I'm thinking of emailing them, and see if their are willing and allow me to share all the posts about Maggie, but like I said, it will get the Hispanic population, meaning that they will speak mostly Spanish
It's La Ley 95.7

Will they understand it in english or will it be translated into Spanish for them? If not then maybe someone on the forum knows or speaks spanish well and could translate the story before it goes to the radio station ?

I speak Spanish, my thoughts are, since is an Spanish speaking language only, email them everything as is, in English, translate everything, but I'm kind of stuck, at if Mark will know any Spanish at all?

On more thing, I don't live in Texas, I'm in New Mexico, neighbors really, but it's a radio station all over the US,

I had a couple interesting ideas this morning... By now the vet that had the call about a big red bird in the back yard should have their phone bill/call record. Maybe they would be so kind as to follow up on numbers from that day/time? Another thought was that why would they call that particular vet? Maybe they are a customer with a different pet. It might be a little pricey, but if you made up post cards and paid for postage, they might be willing to print the client base and you could send out the cards to all of the customers at that clinic? Or make little cards for other vet clinics to slip in with the bills they send out in the mail to their clients? Other businesses you know that could slip in little lost bird cards with bills to their clients?

We called on the call log within days of this... they have an old school phone system/plan. Shows outgoing calls, not incoming.

Tried that one.

They callled that vet because it was close by. So I am targeting the neighborhoods in that area for more flyers. I spent last Sunday putting out more flyers, in fact.

I BELIEVE SOMONE IN THAT AREA HAS MY BIRD.

I can do my typical tourist joke:

"Donde esta la casa de pee-pee?" :D

What little Spanish I do know is pronounced so horribly that my hispanic friends laugh at me...

Sarah does. Spanish, Portuguese and English.

I don't.

I recognize Portuguese swear words fairly well... (I was married to a Brazillian woman at one time.)

I can use the software for translating. Sometimes it's accurate. Sometimes you get: "Lost bird because my lightbulb city bathtub is painting the blue fence."

Is this a hunch based on the information at hand or do you have an actual lead/source?

They called the vet and said they found a big red bird in their yard...

Soooo... it's an assumption on my part that the big red bird would be Maggie, but really, how many of them can there be?! And it's not that far from where she was lost. Only one or two subdivisions over... so it fits logically as well.

I just wanted to stop by and let you know that I was on FB today and I saw your post about Maggie shared by a parrot group. I reshared it. Its reached all the way to Artesia NM. Everyone is spreading the word. I have several breeders, and rescues from NM on my fb as well. Just wanted to let you know.

Roger, I guessed that but was hoping that maybe you had a lead...

That's the last legit lead I've got.

And based on that information we know the general vicinity of the person who has her. So, I'm targeting that area with flyers now.

I've chased down a lot of red herrings...

Finally got a facebook page set up myself last night. Got over 350 new local shares between last night and this morning... And it looks like the shares are sharing.

So, every little bit helps, right?!

kkkkk ...

Yeah, well, the one I married kinda went a little bit nuts on me... so... not so much mystery, as some form of psychosis!

Yeah, I must admit, I danced in a Samba Troop when I was younger, and had a thing for Brazilian women...

Then I married one.

FUN STOPPED ABOUT A YEAR AFTER THE RING WENT ON...

APPARENTLY THE ONLY WORD IN THE WEDDING VOWS THAT ACTUALLY MATTERED WAS "OBEY!" And that word only applied to me! :D

Ancient History now...

I got my daughter out of it.

I met Rachel a few years later.

I still have mixed emotions about Brazilian culture. There are great things that I absolutely love about it. And probably an equal number of things that just upset me greatly...

lol ... Mine's crazy too but in a good way. Been married for 5 years. The culture I agree, some amazing things and some not. But its a complex mixture of people over there so I understand why it is that way too. If the government wasn't so corrupt and it was a little safer, I'd move there in a heartbeat. Beautiful, beautiful country. Anyway, I'll stop high-jacking this thread so that it stays on topic.

:red1:

Nothing.

Got over 1,000 shares on facebook in the last few days... for what ever that is worth.

Settling in psychologically for what could be a long wait... but still doing all I can to find her.

It's hard to face... I hope who ever has her is taking care of her. And I hope I find them or they find me soon.

If I don't...
