I lost maggie tonight!!

I'm obviously hoping for Maggie to come home...but...

not to be morbid...

have you contacted the Department of Public Works or the DEC in San Antonio?I'm not sure if its similar to new york state, but when someone typically finds a wounded or deceased bird in New York we're urged to contact the DEC for fear of spreading diseases. They're typically taken to be tested for West Nile and such.

Again, i dont mean to be unkind or upsetting, i just know that if it we're me, i'd want to know either way.

It's animal control here in San Antonio, and I've contacted them several times, alive or dead, I want to know.

BUT that call to the Vet two weeks ago. I found a big red bird in my yard... I don't believe for a second that she's dead!

I truly hope shes alive and well. I just would want to know either way. Still sending all my good thoughts, vibes, prayers your way.

During this thread from the beginning my mind has been wandering back to my first experience with a lost/found bird. As a young boy around 10 yrs. old I was walking to the Friday night movies with two of my neighborhood friends. This was back at a time when kids were allowed to do such things. It was the 50's and Eisenhower was president. We passed a house on the main street and a green parrot was sitting on a wrought iron fence. I had no interest in the bird but my friends decided the bird was lost and there might be a chance for a reward. So they picked up the willing bird and returned home with it. After the owner made contact they received a reward. But, the point of this short story is the bird was perched on a fence in the owner's front yard!

I keep hoping for a similar result. :)

What's you Facebook page name?

Also, I have shared Maggie's bereavement thread with the radio station, lets hope it gets read and share!

Mark, I am glad you are on FB!
Please check Exotic Parrots of America.
Someone is selling a GW in CT, but worth looking at the picture at least.
They just posted it about 1 hour ago, and it could be a scam.

Its no harm to check all Green Wings out no matter where they show up but I dont think the one on the fb pic is Maggie as its facial markings appear different to me. Some day one way or another I just know it some lead is going to come the way that leads straight to Maggie .

I just shared the link on my FB page and also posted it to my Parrot Club's web page, asking everyone to share to all parrot clubs they know. The more people know about Maggie, the better.

Found greenwing ad showed up on one of the facebook breeder sites last nihgt, but was taken down almost as quickly as it went up. Waiting for a call back. Could be nothing. Could be Maggie...

Did you get a number or some other type of information this time?

I just shared your Facebook link as well. Hopefully it reaches the right person!

Nothing...

Well, I've spent the past week or so increasing the visibility on Facebook... Got her up on all sorts of different sites from the vets, to the pet stores, to the yard sale and garage sale sites, to anyplace where a lot of folks in this area seem to gather...

Hopefully the seeds I've planted will bear fruit... Feel free to share off my facebook page.

Will do, Mark. Sending positive thoughts.

I will be sure to share Mark. I really hope you get a firm lead soon!

:( I was hoping Maggie had been found by now. She's still out there, and I think social media is probably the best platform at this point to find her!
