I'm so sorry Mark, I hope you are able to get her back. Did she have a track pack on?

It's a little Teflon semi permanent harness, it can stay on birds for
Years. And you clip on radio telemetry or GPS so if the bird flies out of site you can track them down. With parrots you'd want to get them used to it young, but you can also use a tail mount. It's a little clamp you put on one of the middle tail feathers. A few people have used it on parrots with great success, but it's more the norm for raptors.
Thanks to everyone for everything you have done and are doing...
I haven't given up. I won't give up. But the only lead I've got at the moment is very unpleasant news. And I'm having a hard time of it, especially since the woman who knows the truth is less than forthcoming...
Today makes THREE WEEKS. And I am really friggin' hurting... the reality that she may never come home is setting in...
I still don't want to go there... And I won't stop looking.
I can't wrap my head around a friggin' ladder causing this, after all the stuff we did together. This bird used to go to the drop zone with me. AIRPLANES taking off in front of her. PEOPLE SWOOPING IN PAST HER... She just sat on her playstand and watched the show... A freakin' ladder?! Are you kidding me! Yesterday, I plastered the duck pond area, Heritage, and Adams Hill with flyers... in case my information is wrong. (And it's a longshot, so we just keep getting the word out, until the right person calls.)

I hit google but no results. Do you have a link ?

This is the tail mount
Marshall Radio Telemetry - Marshall Tail-Piece Installation Kit
And this is the harness track pack
Marshall Radio Telemetry - TrackPack Mounting System
And then these are the transmitters you clip on
Marshall Radio Telemetry - Premium Transmitters
And the GPS tracker. It's expensive but I totally think it's worth it and use it daily.

This is GREAT information, I had no clue this kind of thing existed. If you have time, you should start a thread over in the free flight section with more information about these. I think a lot of forum members would be interested in GPS trackers on their out and about and/or freeflighted birds.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Someone called one of the local vets tonight. They found "a great big red bird" in their yard. This is a vet that HAD my flyer... but the receptionist didn't check the lost and found book, and didn't get a name or number...
"We're trying to find the owner of a lost bird!"
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Which means that this other bird was probably NOT Maggie... and the bird that was found tonight was, and THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE PHONE CALL THAT BROUGHT HER HOME, BUT INSTEAD.... WE DON'T KNOW WHO HAS HER.
So do I go to the bar again tonight, to pester the flipper, or do I wait by the phone?
Or do I just find, a really tall building...
SORRY.
But someone did find her, and she's alive... at least we think she is....
YEAH. GOOD LUCK SLEEPING TONIGHT...
AND ONCE AGAIN, FOR THE THIRD TIME SINCE I LOST HER I AM AN INCH FROM GETTING HER BACK, AND DIDN'T!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Do you think someone has possession of her or knows someone who does? That's pretty despicable. I wish I was close to help search for her![]()
There is a flipper here in town that poses as a bird rescue... she gets found birds, and then sells them. About a week after Maggie was lost, she was looking for a large macaw cage cheap. Last week, she was looking for someone with a truck to help her transport "her greenwing" to Austin...
Thing is, she didn't ever own a greenwing...
So, tell me more about the greenwing.
Myself and three other people have inquired. We each got a different story...
Needless to say it's suspicious... but I know where she works, and I have her email address, and her facebook page, and now I'm dogging her to get at the truth...
IN THE MEANTIME, SOMEONE ELSE FOUND A BIG RED BIRD TONIGHT, BUT THE FRIGGIN' VET NEGLECTED TO TELL THEM I WAS LOOKING FOR ONE... AND NOW I DON'T KNOW WHETHER TO DOG THE FLIPPER, OR CHASE THIS OTHER LEAD...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Tell your friggin' receptionist to get a name and number. Next time doesn't do me any good now. This may have been my big chance and we lost it!!!
