And I'm absolutely serious!!!
Have any of you heard of this style housing before? Or been in one? I would LOVE any ideas or information! I fell for this type of construction years ago (carpenter for a father.....daddys girl....only natural;) ) and am finally at the age and stage in life where I can start making a scrapbook of ideas.:1218:

LOL! Thats funny! Sorry only read about it in the 3 piggies and wolve story. I have no idea what it looks like. Can you post pics on that, could be rather interesting.

Yeah, I've heard of and seen one, Where my Dad lives in Wales there is a house made of straw. I think I've got some pics somewhere I'll have a look and post them up here. If I can't find them I'll get in touch with my Dad and ask him to take some.

It was an awesome house, and at the time in the process of being built. I'll send him an email now.

Very attractive ... how do you think one of those babies would stand up against a New England (USA) Winter were we can get 2 meters (6 feet) of snow a month between November and April and temps can ROUTINELY get to -25 to -30 C (-15 to -22 F) ... think it would keep us warm in the winter? :18:

Well, they are fine until The Big Bad Wolf comes by and "Huffs and Puffs"

They are known for their insulation qualities, (the walls are super thick) and their fireproofness.
Imagine trying to set fire to a pile of phone books that are closed...it'd just smoke.

Yep they are supposed to stand up to anything, and they look fantastic.
